Ventura and O2 join in CSR project
A great day was had by all when volunteers from Ventura, customer management outsourcing experts and O2, the UK's leading provider of mobile phones and broadband joined together to support a local charity, Pitstop 2000.
A team from Ventura and O2's customer services rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their brooms and brushes; and headed down to Pitstop's go-carting track for a day of hard labour cleaning and clearing things up. The community go-carting track in Halifax, is being supported by O2's It's Your Community Programme, to help continue giving young people new learning experiences and activities in the area.
Not only were Ventura keen to support its client O2 in helping the local community but also to build on the Ventura and O2 one team ethos.
Pitstop 2000 was established in 2004 to give the young people of Halifax and surrounding areas opportunities, a place to go and learn new skills. Pitstop 2000's carting track gives young people the chance to find out how to build and maintain go-carts, before getting the chance to race them.
Adrian Woods, Operations Manager of Pitstop 2000 explained, 'We aim to give young people the chance to learn new skills in a practical way. People who perhaps don't do so well in the formalised school environment can turn out to be our best mechanics.' He continued, 'But running a carting track is a costly business, so we rely heavily on organisations such as Ventura and O2, for their voluntary time and effort.'
Maria Jones, of O2's Customer Services said, 'Adrian and all his team here at Pitstop 2000 do fantastic work, I am so please that we can help them. O2's It's Your Community Programme, is getting focused on young people, on projects across the country similar to this one.'
Rosalind Edmond, Account Director at Ventura commented 'It's great to work in partnership with our clients helping our local community. The Pitstop 2000 project is so positive it's a great opportunity to get involved.'
